Sugar free chocolate ice cream (paleo, vegan)

This composition of ingredients came to my mind some time ago. I waited only for a free weekend and the opportunity to test a retro ice cream machine that I received from friends. The opportunity came yesterday- on the last day of holidays. I prepared the ice mass, I put the machine in the freezer and turned on the power cable (yes, it’s exactly the way it works, by freezing working machine) . Unfortunately tarnished by the tooth of time the engine was not able to mix the dens mass.

Fortunately, I already had some experience in preparing ice cream without the ice machine (raspberries paleo ice cream) so I didn’t panic.

It came out deliciously. Sweetened only with dates it’s sweet but not too much. Frozen ice cream have the perfect consistency, and with a little extra coconut oil it keeps creamy. Actually, the mixture is so good that you could even eat it warm :)

Try it yourself!


Soak dates in hot water and leave for a few minutes. Gently heat the coconut oil until melted, take out of the heat and add raw cocoa. Mix until blended. All together, mix in a blender until smooth. Add the coconut milk and mix again.

Crumble the chocolate into small pieces and gently mix with ice mass.

Place the mass in a dish and put in the freezer. Freeze for about 3 hours. Important! take the container out of freezer every 20 – 30 minutes and mix thoroughly. Serve when ready.

If kept in the freezer for a longer time it needs to be put aside for 30 min at room temperature to thaw.
